Dr. Chin is a practicing general internist and international expert in improving diabetes care for vulnerable patients and reducing racial and ethnic disparities in healthcare. Dr. Chin co-chairs the National Quality Forum (NQF) Disparities Standing Committee that recommended how to achieve health equity through performance measurement and payment reform to the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) via its report A Roadmap for Promoting Health Equity and Eliminating Disparities: The 4 I’s for Health Equity.

Dr. Chin serves on the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) Community Preventive Services Task Force and the National Advisory Council to the National Institute on Minority Health and Health Disparities. He is a former President of the Society of General Internal Medicine (SGIM), and has won mentoring awards from SGIM and the University of Chicago.
